Talking of masked men in costumes, this week in London, a protester dressed as Batman scaled up the front wall of Buckingham Palace on Monday afternoon, and remained on a ledge near the balcony used by the Queen on ceremonial occasions, for over five hours while police talked him into surrendering.

The protester was identified as Jason Hatch, 33, from Gloucester, is a member of the Fathers 4 Justice group, which is campaigning for greater custody rights for divorced or separated fathers.
The group also made the headline in May for throwing a condom filled with purple dye at British Prime Minister, Tony Blair during a debate in the House of Commons. (See previous funny, weird news article).
Constable Plodd, a police spokesman explained to visiting CNN reporters why they had not simply shot the intruder in the back before he reached the Queen's balcony.
"Firstly we don't have guns", he admitted, "We tried our usual threat of shouting "Stop! Otherwise I'll shout stop again", but that didn't work", he continued.
"Also, we realized that the man was no threat to anyone since he was obviously incompetent due to the fact that he was wearing his underwear on top of his trousers!"
