There's been some rather bizarre news in the animal kingdom this week. Firstly, animal rights groups everywhere, were outraged by a request from researchers at the University of Tromsø in Norway, when they applied for permission to break the legs of at least three sheep for one of their "scientific" projects.
Funny Weird News - Norway's research council rejects student's request to torture sheep

The request from the medical faculty stated that the sheep would be anesthetized, (probably by being hit on the head by a hammer), and would receive painkillers during the procedure, during which their forelegs would be broken in several places.
The poor buggers would then hobble around a field in agony for four weeks before finally having their brains blown out. Luckily, the state commission on animal experimentation rejected the application's request for confidentiality and questioned the motives behind the research.
When cornered, leading researcher, Annabelle Lector, finally admitted that she simply likes the "snapping sound" that the bones make and that she had always hated sheep ever since she almost chocked to death, as a child, while attempting to put on a particularly tight sweater.
Apparently, Ms. Lector had also previously been turned down for several other scientifically dubious animal experiments. These included requests to "kneecap a badger", "choke a chicken", "strain a weasel" and "spank a monkey".
